About us:

We own and operate our own great value private schools, partner with governments to improve the quality of public school systems, and use our content and technology to help other education providers. Founded in Sierra Leone in 2014, we provided emergency education to children kept out of school by the Ebola Epidemic before opening our first school in April 2015. Today, we serve more than 250,000 students across more than 900 schools in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana and now Rwanda.

About the role:

We are seeking an ambitious, motivated, self-driven and highly organised People Manager to join our international team, and be based in Ghana. The People Manager will play a central role in the continued evolution, expansion, and strengthening of Rising’s organisation-wide People function. The work will include ensuring consistently high levels of support for all HQ staff. The People Manager will also drive the centralisation, streamlining, and oversight of all People processes and policies, while supporting and developing members of the People team, including country-based HR Leads.

Requirements

The People Manager will:

  • Ensure Rising’s mission and values are central to the Rising employee experience.
  • Demonstrate a complete mastery of Rising’s existing People systems and provide training and support to other team members on those systems.
  • Foster and develop the capacity of Rising’s People Team.
  • Collaborate with Rising’s Talent Team, HR Leads, and hiring managers to ensure every new joiner receives a high-quality induction experience.
  • Develop, refine, and optimise People tools, systems, and resources to ensure ease of access and use for staff.
  • Ensure Rising’s HR practices adhere to Rising values, local laws and regulations, and international best practices.
  • Build and implement systems and practices to ensure Rising’s People data is accurate and consistently up-to-date.
  • Support Rising’s commitment to valuing and investing in professional development for staff.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University level undergraduate degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in HR or People Operations.
