Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and seasoned Country Operations Manager who will be executing strategies to penetrate the entire country. You must be highly analytical, a self-starter, results-oriented and able to thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment. We are committed to and encourage equal opportunity. As Country Manager, you will be responsible for driving expansion in Ghana. You will be required to define and execute the company’s launch plans across the country.


Leadership amp; Growth
  • Work directly with the global executive team to own and deliver growth targets in Ghana
  • Set growth goals and budgets, establish strategies for getting there, and build systems to measure success.
  • Design and implement experiments to catalyze growth
  • Contribute to and develop product enhancements and improvements for the country
  • Be a creative thought leader in unlocking new growth channels
  • Prepare proposals and deliver partnerships with top brands, strategic partners, Governments, and SMEs
  • Ensure there is effective collaboration between country team and HQ
  • Create and manage clear internal processes for country team with HQ support
  • Possess a vision of growth for the country and communicate this vision clearly to the team
  • Create and implement strategies across the business that maximise customer loyalty, increase retention and maximize revenue.
  • Support the development of a positive company culture and overall company vision
  • Set an organizational tone that attracts, retains, motivates and develop a highly qualified workforce
  • Earn and maintain respect of MAX employees, Executives and the Board
  • Ensure the effective management of people and resources: right people are in place to carry out the organization’s strategic direction
  • Support the building of a positive and productive culture in the workplace by listening to employee opinions, making adjustments, and recognising the team's accomplishments
  • Encourage open communication, collaboration and inspire loyalty to further the mission and vision of the organization
  • Develop and implement staff development plan for to ensure effective skill-building among employees
Financial Responsibility
  • Drive financial discipline and the importance of financial balance to achieve the mission and vision
  • Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Meet or exceed past years' financial results for the organization’s growth
  • Explore opportunities to strengthen the organization’s financial position and organizational growth and development
  • Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements
  • Ensures adequate internal systems are in place to protect the organization’s financial health
  • Ensure an annual audit of financial operations and a thorough review by the board
Brand Building amp; Partnerships
  • Facilitate the integration of MAX into the fabric of the community through marketing initiatives
  • Promote community programs and services in a cost-effective manner - employing economy while maintaining an acceptable level of quality.
  • Act as an advocate and chief spokesperson for MAX ensuring a good brand reputation
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain business partnerships with other organizations
Performance Management
  • Measure and track key performance metrics
  • Conduct competitive research and analyze their product, marketing and distribution strategies
  • Oversee implementation of growth automation, growth analytics
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends that are relevant to company mission
  • Oversee implementation of surveys, opinion polls, data collection, and questionnaires to gain deep insight into consumer trends

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience, with at least 3-5 years in a country leadership role with operational experience
  • Experience leading projects and aligning business strategy with product delivery
  • Ability to work in a global context - previous experience working in high-impact environments is preferred
  • Proven track record of engagement and communication with C-suite stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills; extensive experience in managing and mobilizing cross-functional teams
  • Past track record of recruiting and developing a high performing team
  • Passionate about customers and demonstrated experience at building strong relationships
  • Understand different contexts i.e. work environments, cultures, market changes, customer behaviour, etc
  • Futuristic and visionary with an entrepreneurial mindset, agile and adapts quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Data-driven method for decision making using KPIs and metrics
  • You should expect 20% to 30% travel to Lagos, Nigeria and other locations
